What this covers
ScreenIT has three places you might meet a cookie, and they behave differently, so this policy says what each one does.
- The ScreenIT website at screenit.health, which anyone can visit, uses cookies. Some are necessary. Analytics cookies are set only if you agree; if you decline we may still receive a basic signal that a visit happened, sent without a cookie and not used to identify you.
- The clinician portal, used by clinics, clubs, and teams, uses cookies. Some are necessary; the analytics ones load only if you agree.
- The patient portal sets no advertising or analytics cookies at all and does not ask for consent. There is nothing there to turn off.
The way you change your mind differs between them, so each section says how it works there rather than describing one method as though it were universal.
The ScreenIT website
What happens before you choose
When you first visit, analytics are switched off by default and no analytics cookie is set. A banner asks you to accept or decline, and we do not treat continuing to browse as consent.
If you decline, or before you answer, no analytics cookie is set and no identifier is stored on your device. We may still receive a basic signal that a page was visited. It is sent without a cookie, we do not use it to identify you, and it is counted only as part of a total: it tells us how many people came, not who.

Changing your mind
The website has no account and no profile, so there is no preferences page to return to. To change your choice, delete ScreenIT’s cookies through your browser settings. That clears the record of your earlier choice, so the banner will ask you again on your next visit and you can answer differently. Deleting them also clears any analytics cookies already set.
Declining does not limit you: every part of the website works the same either way.
The clinician portal
What happens before you choose

If you decline, or before you answer, no analytics cookie is set and nothing is stored that would recognise you on a later visit. If you arrived by following one of our campaign links, one thing is kept without asking, because it is needed for the sign-up that link leads to. It is described below.

Keeping you signed in does not use a cookie either. The portal stores that in your browser’s local storage, along with a few settings such as your sound preferences and which release notes you have seen.
If you arrived from one of our campaigns
If you reached the portal by following a link from one of our campaigns - an email, a newsletter, a post on social media - that link carries labels saying which campaign it was. The portal keeps those labels, and the page they brought you to, for as long as the tab stays open, so that if you go on to sign up a few pages later the sign-up records which campaign brought you.
That is the only thing it is kept for. It is discarded when you close the tab, it is not sent to anyone outside ScreenIT, and it is not used to recognise you or to build a picture of you. If you arrived any other way - typing the address, a bookmark, an ordinary link - nothing is kept at all.
Because it is needed to complete the sign-up the link leads to, it sits outside the analytics choice: accepting or declining on the banner does not change it, and neither does withdrawing consent later. Closing the tab does.
Changing your mind
You can withdraw consent at any time from Cookie preferences in your profile. Withdrawing clears the analytics cookies already set and stops the analytics tag loading. You can also delete cookies through your browser settings, though that will also clear the record of your choice, so you will be asked again on your next visit.
Declining costs you nothing: every part of the portal works the same either way.
The patient portal
The patient portal sets no advertising or analytics cookies, so it does not show a cookie banner and does not ask for consent.
Keeping you signed in does not use a cookie. The portal stores that in your browser’s local storage instead, along with a few settings that keep the app working as you move between pages. None of it is shared with an analytics provider, and none of it is used to track you.
What we do not do
This applies everywhere ScreenIT sets a cookie.
We do not use advertising cookies. When you accept, we grant analytics storage only; advertising storage is never granted, and ScreenIT runs no advertising and has no ad platform. We do not sell information collected through cookies, and we do not use analytics data to identify you personally or to make decisions about you.
Analytics tell us that a page was used, not what a patient’s results were. Assessment results and clinical notes are never sent to an analytics provider.
Cookies set by other people
Where your organisation chooses to use an optional third-party assessment tool as part of care, that tool is provided by its own supplier and may set its own cookies when you use it. Those are the supplier’s, governed by its own policy.

Most browsers let you see, block, and delete cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the portal working.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the cookies we use change. The current version is always published with its date shown, and material changes are notified in the same way as changes to the Privacy Policy.
